Fake Wedding Ring?
Wedding Ring Fake Jewellery Question: Hi there, thanks for volunteering.
Engagement & Wedding Rings, 1st Edition: The Definitive Buying Guide for People in Love
Price: $5.75
I bought my wife a wedding ring from a small jewellery shop 2 years ago.
Just lately, it has been turning the area around her finger black.
Is this bad jewellery or something else? There was nothing showing on the jewellery valuation Certificate that would show any problems, so I am at a loss as to why this is happening.
Answer: G’day and many thanks for your query
Many so called experts will tell you straight off the bat - it’s not gold. But in truth, and because I can’t see or test the ring, there are many reasons why there is a reaction to the wedding band.
Simple things, like a change in your wife’s hand cream or and plating coming off the band can cause the same reaction.
So the first thing is to remember the GOLDEN RULE NUMBER ONE - DON’T PANIC..!
Take the ring to your local FRIENDLY jeweler and have them take a look at it. They can even test it for you for a small fee. The money spent will ease your mind and give you an unbiased answer.
Next I would check the paperwork that came with the ring in the first place. Did it have any Warranty? Did it come with any specifications written on the receipt?
Once you know more - you will know what to do. Just remember the Golden Rule and step forward.
Oh one last thing - As it’s Christmas - You might want to replace the item with a new one (from your FRIENDLY Jeweler, of course). Will get you heaps of Brownie Points too…
Hope this helps.
