I have extensive sales experience but no inside industry knowledge.
What books / magazines / online resources should I research in order to get my foot in the door with a respectable jewelry retailer?

But you didn’t say where you live? and as the jewelry trade has different specifications all around the world, you first bet is to walk into your local FRIENDLY jeweler, and start talking with them.
